Hiking boots are being unearthed from cramped closets and there’s a spring in the step of the members of Trout Unlimited’s Sportsmen’s Conservation Project. We are sportsmen and women dedicated to protecting our fishing and hunting opportunities by protecting the habitat which supports the game, fish, and people who rely on it. Roadless areas are our backcountry – our backyard – our peace of mind that in an ever-changing world, some things stay the same. These public lands are untracked, untrashed, unspoiled; a sportsman’s paradise where the bulls and bucks are bigger and the fish are wild and plentiful. They are part of what makes this country great, these lands are set aside to maintain their natural qualities. They are places for our children’s children to carry on the traditions we enjoy today. Be it hunting, fishing, or just being out there, the backcountry is what supports this nation’s sporting lifestyle and heritage.
